Prime Minister, Narendar Modi, launched the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) on October 11, 2014. A programme to boost rural development under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). The idea is to encourage MPs to utilize a portion of the funds allotted under MPLADS towards a rural development programme, in which each of them should adopt a village every year for its all-round economic and social growth and development so as to ensure a better life for all rural people.
Dimple Yadav, Mulayam Singh’s daughter-in-law, has adopted a village, Saidpur from her Kannauj constituency.
According to the MP model village plan progress report which has been issued by the
Ministry of Rural Development,MP Kannauj, Dimple Yadav stands among top five .
She has contributed for the welfare of public interest, such as drinking water, schools ,
adequate power , widow pension and mid - day meal schemes
which are operating far better than any rest for the villages under SAGY.
The report depicts that there are only 6 villages under BJP in top 15. Surprisingly, Jayapurakateni village,
adopted by the country's prime minister in SAGY is missing from the list of top -15.
The rural development ministry plans to join the list of top -15 villages in a film.
These films will be distributed in the country by making a CD .
